Champions!!!

Congratulations to the Girls’ Varsity Basketball team!  They defeated Sand Rock on Saturday to secure the Area Championship!!   Westbrook team members who made the All-Tournament Team are Mary Katherine Catanzaro, Courtney Bolton, and Kennedy Vice.  Peighton Streip was named the Tournament MVP!!

The Boys Varsity Team lost a heartbreaker (by one point) in the area championship to Sand Rock to secure the runner-up position.   Westbrook team members who made the All-Tournament Team are Carson Sharp, Colin Edwards, Jonathan Ford, and Alex Perkins.

The Westbrook Varsity Scholars Bowl Team won their district competition on Friday.  They will compete in the regional tournament on March 3.  Team members are:  Matthew Mabrey, Will Clokey, Brian Jennings, Katie Brown and Jake O’Leary.  Team sponsor is Mrs. Donette Griffith.

National Merit Finalist

We are excited to announce that Westbrook senior, Brian Jennings, has been named a National Merit Finalist! Brian is one of 15,000  chosen nation wide. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $34 million. The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Congratulations, Brian! We’re proud of you!!

Re-enrollment time!

Re-enrollment packets have been mailed.  Please make sure that you take advantage of the priority time for re-enrollment to insure a place for your student next year.  Remember – students may not try out for cheerleader, dance line, or any elected position for next year unless they have re-enrolled.  Enrollment will open to the public on April 2.

Europe – 2013

Our European trip for spring break 2013 is an exciting week in Ireland, Wales and England. We will travel with EF (Education First) tours. The tour includes Shannon, Killarney, Dublin, Snowdonia, Stratford, Oxford, and London. In each city and along the way to each city, many historical attractions will be visited. This is an amazing time for students to experience places they have read about in books or seen in pictures.

The current cost for the trip is $1,914. You may make monthly payments to EF until the trip is paid, or you may choose another payment plan that includes an upfront fee and then the remaining balance close to departure.
